Buddy Programme

Have you ever started a new job and felt completely lost on the first day? Well, starting a new job can be exciting, but it can also be very stressful and overwhelming.

We’d like to help you get the most out of your stay with the Neutrino group and offer you an easy start through our Buddy Programme.

Here’s how it works:

1. Contact the neutrino.secretariat@cern.ch to let us know you’d like to have a buddy assigned during your first days at CERN.
2. Once we receive your e-mail, we will contact our volunteers regarding their availability, assign you your Buddy and send you his /her contact details.
3. Your Buddy might contact you to introduce him/herself, but feel free to reach out shall you have any questions before your arrival.
4. Once you arrive, your Buddy will meet and welcome you at CERN and at the Neutrino group and will help you familiarize yourself with the environment, new colleagues, working tools etc.

As much as we and the buddies would like help you through your first days, please note that we are not here to replace the official authorities as your supervisor, HR professionals, ombudsperson etc.

Usually, a buddy would make him- or herself available to show you around the office, familiarize you with the procedures and policies, and generally help you become familiar with the organizatin's culture and written & unwritten rules.
